You know, Napoleon wasn’t really that short — his height was usually announced in French inches, which were longer than English inches. So, his reported 5’3″ height was really about the same as 5’9″, which was just above average for those times.
Actually, TOG (can I call you TOG?), 5’9″ is just a bit shorter than the average adult male’s height even today.
